Staff Park Bike Roundup for Whismas 2025!

Posted by Emily Slaco on

Something started happening at work this week; more and more DH bikes started showing up in our staff bike rack... and that can only mean one thing. Whistler Mountain's Bike Park opening day is here!

We got a run down on some of our staff's bike park setups, favourite components for the park and of course, favourite trail.

Name: Joe Swann

What you do at Chromag: Product Design Engineer / Development Coordinator

Bike you ride in the park: 2022 GT Fury (hardly used ex-rental 🔥 deal)

Mods, fave parts or settings for park: FU40's the same width and position as my trail bike to try to make swapping back and forth between bikes easier.  Dolomite & Overture so it looks less like a rental bike.  Mastic tape all over the place to keep it quiet.

Fave bike park trail:  I'm pretty green to the park and this is my first ever DH bike but The Oriental Express and some A-line and Dirt Merch laps are my vibe. Miss me with the black tech trails, I want to try to peel tires off in corners and imagine I'm getting sideways on jumps not be terrified hitting roots and rocks at a million miles and hour.

Name: Taylor Boehm

What you do at Chromag: University Co-op student - Operations Coordinator

Bike you ride in the park: Specialized Demo Race, size S3

Mods, fave parts or settings for park: Chromag Pilot Pedals, Overture Saddle, OSX35 Handlebars and of course Chromag Spacers & Top Cap.  Also I have an O-chain which I've been enjoying.

Fave bike park trail:  Dirt Merchant & Loamenade in the Garbo zone.

Name: Steven Janney

What you do at Chromag:  Operations Manager

Bike you ride in the park: Chromag Lowdown.

Mods, fave parts or settings for park: Exact same as my trail bike but 30 PSI in the front and 40 PSI in the rear. My custom Yorkshire Rose RIZA stem is a definite highlight.

Fave bike park trail:  Dirt Merchant, closely followed by Del Bocca Vista.

Name: Cristian Massot

What you do at Chromag:  Fulfillment

Bike you ride in the park: Transition TR11

Mods, fave parts or settings for park: Updated to these Chromag parts; OSX35 35R Black/Purple cut to 780mm, Dagga Pedals, Bassix Seatpost, Overture Saddle (best freeride saddle out there!), Purple Top Cap.

Fave bike park trail:  Tech: Miss Fire, Flow: A-Line

Name: J-M Josse

What you do at Chromag:  Logistics / Team Liaison / Warranties

Bike you ride in the park: OG Canadian Made Lowdown XL

Mods, fave parts or settings for park: 180mm ZEB, Mullet link but running Front & Rear 29er wheels, 170mm rear shock, FU50, Original Ranger V1 40mm stem, Pilot Pedals, 7 speed DH drivetrain.

Fave bike park trail:  Tech: Call Me Maybe, Flow: Crank It Up

What you do at Chromag:  Sales

Bike you ride in the park: Chromag Lowdown set up as a mullet with all the Chromag parts!
